A selection of photos of the recent recycled Bolga baskets from Bolgatanga in Ghana at Trashy Bags in Accra.
Each basket uses 230 pure water bags and about 2 yards of cloth. As such, every single strand is hand-crafted, from the cutters to the weavers and the basket makers themselves.
Do you sell these bags over the internet? I am trying to purchase some for an exhibition that is being held in the UK at the Sainsbury Centre fo Visual Arts in Norwich. The exhibiton is on Basketry and we are keen to have examples of recyled contemporary baskets. Can you help or suggest somewhere that we may be able to purchase these from, as we think they are great.
