Are You MaD?: Development Projects

If you’ve been interested in funding or donating to development projects around the world, you may understandably be overwhelmed by the number of web sites and options. However, Global Giving take the stress out of this. This is really an excellent site with hundreds of projects all over the world categorised by “Children” or by nation or “environment”, and so on. Decide where your interest lies and then find a project to help fund. Check out “Learning Centres for Rural Afghan Women,” for example. Photo is courtesy of this project at Global Giving.

If you have a WordPress Blog, you can even insert a Global Giving Widget Box on your site! Go to www.widgetbox.com/widget/globalgiving. (I’m getting there.)

We just have one entry here because they’re excellent and we cannot find another that meets this standard—and we figure you, the loyal reader (if you made it here, although this may be your first stop), deserves a break.

If you’re interested in NGO work in Africa, or NGO work anywhere, then browsing the projects there gives you a strong sense of the type of NGO work available in the developing world.
