Hi Gayle, you have a nice overview of Ashanti Region in some of your posts. We wish you could award us with a few reviews of hotels and restaurants on the MyGardenCity.com platform for Ashanti Region. You can also link your blogs there. Signup takes less than 20 seconds. Thank you, Kwame

Thanks Chris. I absolutely agree on 4 Villages! It's in our Guide to Ghana as top recommendation for Kumasi. Also on the Central Market though that scared the wits out of me in the beginning. Very much a must see.

Kumasi is a fabulous town! Don't miss Kumasi Central Market also known as Kejetia Market-reputed to be the largest outdoor market in West Africa.
If you are looking for a moderately priced upmarket B &B reviewed as "Easily the nicest place to stay in Kumasi" then check out Four Villages Inn

Hi Anny and Peter. Thanks for the compliments!
It is very hot right now in the northern half of Ghana. We freeze drinks the night before and get through the day by "drinking" frozen tea and water. So certainly wear light cotton clothing. Long pants to protect you from the sun and light T-shirts are best. Girls often bring light gypsy skirts or the like too. Lots of sun tan lotion too--SPF 30 and above. Let me know if you have more questions.
Best,
Gayle.

Hi. I am off to Kumasi in mid-March as part of a group of headteachers and teachers from Essex who are making links with schools in Ghana. I have enjoyed your guide, both sample and full version and am looking forward to my trip. Have been to North Africa quite a lot but only a short holiday in the Gambia (which I loved) in West Africa. Any tips? Is it as hot as it seems on the BBC weather site? By the way, thanks for the guide - seems excellent.
