I’ve been blogging using Blogger at This is Ghana since late 2008 and on WordPress here at G-lish since late 2009. I started this series about travel blogging that readers might find helpful and informative.
In the series on Travel Blogging, I began by writing an article as an Introduction to Travel Blogging. It was fascinating to dig into the hundreds of travel blogs around the world and see how others had structured their blogs and what platforms they had chosen to use.
Here’s an excerpt from Introduction to Travel Blogging:
“Travelers may want to blog for themselves, for friends and family, for a niche audience, or for a worldwide audience. Some travelers blog to attract attention of publishers, others blog to develop a portfolio of work that can be used to raise a writing, film-making or photography profile, and others blog to become professional travel bloggers and make a living from their blogs.”
I thought it was a one-article idea, but the topic grew and I soon found myself writing Tips and Tools for Travel Blogging.
“The tools needed roughly fall into two categories: essential and “wishlist”. As the names suggest, essential tools are the basic tools of trade for a travel blogger and virtually non-negotiable if blogging on the road is the objective. The “wishlist” set of tools are not essential, but will help bloggers be more efficient and possibly more creative too.”
